You would have noticed in many Instagram profiles where people upload white background or photos that are white which makes the feed look cool. Likewise, I’ve been asked how to make dark or black background and photos to have their feed dark.
In this post, I’m going to show you how to use the new Expand feature in Snapseed app. Make sure you have the updated version on your mobile to use this feature which is pretty good.
I happened to be in Chennai and had the chance of having this Tornado Potato.
If you notice the light is from the cart where the tornado potatoes are being made.
How do I edit my photo with black background?
Snapseed has a new Expand feature which allows you to expand your photo with a desired colour of your choice.
Know a bit about Snapseed app:
Snapseed is a complete and professional photo editor developed by Google.
• 26 tools and filters, including: Healing, Brush, Structure, HDR, Transform (see list below)
• Opens JPG and RAW files
• Use the stack to re-adjust edits later
• Selective filter brush
• All styles can be tweaked with fine, precise control
• Insights feature with tips and tricks about Snapseed and general photography
After installing the app on your mobile, tap the icon to launch it.
Open the photo using your Snapseed app, and click the Pencil icon on the right-bottom.
Tap Tune Image to enhance your photo.
Move the sliders around till you like what you have done to your photo. (The values shown below may not be right for your photo. Just get creative – remember not to overdo it). Tap the Tick mark on the bottom-right once you are done.
Increase sharpening and structure to your taste.
Tap the Curves option.
Move the points around to get the desired effect.
Tap Expand at the bottom.
Choosing the option Smart is a smart option, else you can choose Black or White. Option Smart, understands the photo and stretches the sides and ends according to the details in the photo.
Drag the edges to expand the size of the photo. You will notice how beautifully Snapseed fills up the space.
Tap the Tick option on the far right-bottom and tap Export to create a new photo with the changes you just made.
